Help paying for care
Only about 5 percent of potentially eligible veterans are actually receiving a benefit they qualify for. A short conversation is usually enough to tell which group your family is in.

Could your family qualify?
- Is the veteran or surviving spouse 65 or older, or receiving Social Security disability?
- Did they serve at least one day during a wartime period?
- Do they need help with daily living, or already receive care?
Not eligible if currently receiving 100 percent VA disability compensation. A full review looks at income, assets and medical expenses, which is why families who assume they earn too much are often wrong. The maximum is $3,845 a month, and the first consultation is free.
Roughly one third of people over the age of 65 in this country have a potential for receiving a benefit. Only 5 percent of potentially eligible veterans are actually receiving benefits.
This benefit can help pay anyone, including your own child, for care at home. It can also pay for professional care at home, for assisted living, or for a nursing home. For a single wartime veteran that is up to $2,424 a month that most families never knew existed.

There's not enough space to aptly praise the Vet Support Center staff. My family (who included veterans) tried, on our own, to apply for benefits for my mother, only to be overwhelmed and discouraged by the amount of paperwork and intricacies of the application.

Needless to say, we were unsuccessful. In February this year, someone recommended the Vet Support Center. After doing some research on the organization, we gave them a call. We completed a brief questionnaire to see if my mother qualified; and if she did, what the benefit amount would be. After providing them with some necessary documentation by March 1st, they took over everything else. The application was submitted March 3rd, and started processing March 17th. The group systematically kept us informed of progress. It was approved in April and the first check was received May 11th! We were STUNNED to have been granted the full benefit they said my mother would be entitled to receive, and in such a short amount of time! They were not. Please don't hesitate to contact the Vet Support Center if you're thinking about applying for benefits. They KNOW WHAT THEY'RE DOING! Also, everyone is just delightful to work with - very patient, caring, and thoughtful. They're always responsive to any questions or concerns and offer great guidance along the way. Even the veterans in the family are recommending the Vet Support Center and that says a lot.

I originally tried applying for VA benefits for my mom by myself with some help from a veteran volunteer. My mom was denied because I got lost in the details. I cannot more strongly recommend that you get help with your application. My errors stretched the wait out for a year and four months and not getting the benefits would have put my mom in real financial hardship. The folks at the Vet Support Center know what they are doing. They are more than worth the cost of their service. If you have any doubt about using them, let me assure you that you will be glad that you did.

Vet Support Center really came through for us. I will honestly say that I was extremely skeptical and had many questions and numerous phone calls with them before I felt comfortable moving forward. David, Cathy and Kaitlyn were extremely informative and patient, and gave me all the space I needed to do my research and make my decision.

One of the things they guaranteed was that they would hold our hands through the process, and that they did! Every time I called the office, they answered. Every time I sent an email, I received a very prompt response. I don't think there has been a single day that I've reached out and had to wait overnight to hear back. I've always received a response the same day! We completed our documents for my dad in May 2021, and he began receiving his benefits in June. It was truly remarkable. There's no guarantee that it will happen so fast, but if anyone is going to make it happen, Vet Support Center will!

Wow, I cannot thank The Vet Support Center enough for what they've done for my father. To be honest, I never thought things would actually work out this well, but they made it happen. The entire dream team were absolute professionals; they answered every single call and, most importantly, they followed through on every word on every text every email. If you are looking for a team that genuinely cares and delivers on their promises, this is it. They've changed my dad's life and given our family such peace of mind.
